HOW THIS CALCULATOR WORKS

Enter one consistent campaign

Use a per-order sale price, discount, item cost, shipping and packaging, selling percentage and fixed selling fee. Then enter the total campaign spend and the number of orders attributed to those ads. The model assumes one item and the same economics per order.

ROAS measures revenue, not profit

ROAS is attributed product revenue divided by ad spend. A campaign can have a positive ROAS and still lose money after stock, postage and selling fees. Read the profit result alongside the revenue-to-spend ratio.

Your break-even ad budget

Maximum ad cost per order is the contribution left after the modelled non-ad variable costs. Break-even ROAS compares the discounted selling price with that contribution. If the item loses money before advertising, a profitable ad budget cannot be inferred from this model.

A simple example

Price 100, no discount, stock cost 50, postage 5 and a 10% selling fee leave 35 available per order before ads. Ten orders on ad spend 100 produce revenue 1,000, ROAS 10 and modelled profit 250. Unentered overheads and returns are excluded.

Common questions

Does a ROAS of 3 always mean profit?

No. Profit depends on the contribution available after the other costs.

Does this model multiple items per order?

No. Use blended per-order inputs only when they accurately describe your campaign.
